BatchMaster-FORMULATOR  Options

BatchMaster® was a very successful DOS product that began selling in 1984. Over the years, it has been upgraded to be compatible with Microsoft Windows operating systems.   BatchMaster’s CORE modules have been widely used for over 20 years providing laboratory formula development and analysis.  Specialty Chemical applications such as Paint & Coatings, Adhesives, Inks, Cleaning Materials, and Lubricants represent the primary users, but other users can be found in Cosmetics, Foods, and to a lesser degree, in Drug and Pharmaceuticals.

For accounts still using any version of the BatchMaster DOS software, data can be converted to FORMULATOR.  BatchMaster DOS accounts will find that FORMULATOR has all of the functions they know and love with the ease and flexibility of Windows. FORMULATOR users will also enjoy new additional functions and features.  Not only does FORMULATOR meet the advanced Microsoft requirements for Windows 2000, XP, Terminal Services and Windows 2003 servers, but it also will comply with Vista requirements as well.

During the 1990’s, BatchMaster grew to a full ERP solution with the addition of sales, purchasing, inventory, production, and accounting functions.   The conversion to Windows brought over most of the Lab and Regulatory tools, but little new development of the technical features have been added and many of the awkward DOS conventions continue as part of the current Windows BatchMaster software products.

Today BatchMaster is called Sage PFW and is owned by Sage Software.  The Windows version uses Pervasive SQL for the database manager.  Sage PFW remains an excellent ERP operational suite.  For these installations, FORMULATOR can serve as a superior Laboratory Lab-Book function, add comprehensive MSDS REGULATOR development tools, and supply container labeling output to meet regulatory and DOT requirements.  FORMULATOR data transfer links are integrated with Sage PFW raw materials, formulas, cost, and batch tickets, and can link custom Certificate of Analysis QC data to specific PFW Order line items.

Don’t let a name fool you!  Another company is using the name BatchMaster even though it is not the same product that has been growing for over 20 years.  e-Workplace Solutions kept the right to use the BatchMaster name when they sold the original BatchMaster software code to Sage Software.  Since then they have re-written BatchMaster based on a Discrete Manaufacturing software suite and revised the BatchMaster Software company name.  For some, the operational use of what is commonly referred to as BatchMaster Enterprise (BME) has been an adequate solution.   For those that only used BatchMaster for Laboratory and Regulatory applications and since bought the BME upgrade, the software is found lacking in the old Lab and Regulatory features that began in the BatchMaster DOS product.

For BME accounts FORMULATOR can bring back the features and functions they loved in BatchMaster DOS and yet meet the current Windows technical requirements.   And we can, and have, converted BME data to FORMULATOR data.

We invite all past and present BatchMaster accounts to consider FORMULATOR for Lab-Book functions, QC test development and documentation, new product Project Management, MSDS creation & output, Certificate of Analysis generation & output and integration with most ERP and many accounting systems.  Get back the tools you are missing, and add a host of new features and functionality that are only available in FORMULATOR.
