CITRIX
Installation
Terminal Server Installation
FORMULATOR is supported and will run in a Citrix or
Terminal Services environment. For
single server environments, FORMULATOR should be installed on the server as
normal. The application is then published using
Citrix or Terminal Services.
For
multiple server environments:
In a multiple server environment, you must use a
shared folder to provide the locking and logging functions required by
FORMULATOR. An unlimited number of
servers may run the application, but they all must have access to this shared
folder. All users must have read / write
access.
To create a multi-server environment, do the following:
1. Install
FORMULATOR on all the servers.
2. Create
a shared folder to hold the license, logs, and locking information. All users must have read and write access to
this folder.
3. Locate
the file named “FORMULATOR.mdx” in any FORMULATOR
installation folder. If one of the
installs has users set up, use that one.
Copy it to the shared folder.
4. Locate
the program “MachID.exe” in any FORMULATOR install. Copy it to the shared folder and run it. This is the machine ID for your installation.
5. Send
the machine ID to FORMULATOR Software LLC.
You will receive a FORMULATOR license file in return. Save it in the shared folder.
6. On
each server, run FORMULATOR. On the main
menu, select View – Options. The
following window will appear:
Click the “Set MDX Path” menu. You will see a warning appear:
Click ‘Yes’. The MDX location dialog
will appear:
Navigate to the shared folder and select “Formulator.mdx”. The
server will then share the installation via the shared folder.
