What is the FORMULATOR™ Cosmetics Version?

• FORMULATOR Cosmetics Version is a Windows software program written for the Cosmetic Chemist. It provides a dynamic set of calculation and data manipulation tools to aid in the development and testing of new cosmetic formulas, testing of new materials and improvement of current formula performance. The datacan be integrated with most transactional ERP programs utilizing ODBC databases. The Cosmetic version of FORMULATOR supplies all of the dynamic basic Lab-Book formulating tools and addsINCI names and Product Label authoring features needed by Cosmetic Chemists.  FORMULATOR complies with FDA  21 CFR Part 11 FDA requirements.

System Functions

FORMULATOR supports INCI name, Trade Names, specific codes and discriptions, CAS number all in the same material record. The data can be integrated with most transactional ERPprograms utilizing ODBC databases. The Cosmetic Version adds the capability to identify active ingredients, hazardous materials, active ingredient set-up and Product Label output with automatic use of INCI names.

Cosmetic Formula Development

FORMULATOR™Cosmetic version is designed for Cosmetics and Toiletries including creams, make-up, lipsticks, lotions, naturals and more. The softwareis supplied with all of the tools to build your materials data base, create ingredients files with both simple and compound INCI names.  The User can decide which enhance weight and volume conversions you will use at all levels of calculation, document your quality control tests and make them part of the formula development and testing program. User functions can be set by the primary user to limit changes to critical functions. Formulate in quantities or % weight and switch between methods. Calculate cost by unit of measure or package size as you formulate. Tied with our Product Label features you can also output the Product Label prototype with INCI names. Send the Product Label file to your package design team for final packaging concept and design. Links with hazardous materials logic for MSDS output.

  Formula Cost Analisys

Formula Cost analysis allows the user to build a variety of Packaging Bills of Materials (BOM), show the product fill amounts automatically filling from the formula, adding Labor and Overhead costs.  This analysis also creates the final product Stock Keeping Unit (SKU).  By adding margin goals a first order of pricing is calculated.
